Proverb meanings

Hey guys, I have some proverbs that interested me enough to try to translate. I am mostly confident in what I translated — I had two native speaking friends do a brief check — but I am all too aware it is easy to miss hidden meanings/cultural perspectives when studying proverbs/poetry/etc. I am still very much a beginner. I was hoping someone would be willing to take a closer look and possibly explain anything that may have went over my head. Thank you! ♡

It's easy to meet someone, but difficult to get to know them.

“If you are a swordsman then talk about swords, not poetry.” Don’t talk like an authority about things you don’t understand.

No matter how much you plan, you can’t beat fate.

Failure is the mother of success.

A hundred men can build a fortress, but it takes a woman to build a home.

Hold hands with you, grow old with you.

“Love me, love my dog.” If you love someone, you will love what they love.

“Fate brings people together from far apart.” Love will find a way.

“If a family is harmonious, everything will go well.” Happy wife, happy life.
