I am a bit confused by 為. Help me, please

「以色列」一詞為希伯來語，意思為「與上帝角力者」 ，是以撒的次子雅各與天使摔跤後，被上帝賜名為以色列，即作為以色列十二支派的始祖。記載在《創世紀32章：24-32節》。

That text has been confusing to me, because I don't know the meaning of 為 in 「以色列」一詞為希伯來語，意思為「與上帝角力者」. I can guess the meaning, and I think the first 為 means 'is' ('Israel is a word in Hebrew'=「以色列」一詞為希伯來語) (that is my guess) and the second 為, I do not know what that one means, but I feel like it just perfectly fits in that place (意思為「與上帝角力者」).

And well, if I don't know the meaning, I cannot know the tone, kind of. I have thought it could be second tone or fourth tone, and that is not helpful at all since those are the only pronunciations 為 has.
