How to improve 书面语?

书面语和口语的区别在中文真是太大了。正规的写论文，邮件的方式我还是有点搞不懂。怎么能在短期内提高书面语的水平?

How do i improve 书面语 more quickly? the difference between here and 口语 is a lot more compared to English i feel? i do read 华夏地理 but i think i might need to try newspapers as well?
