"差不多一樣"

I've had a few teachers tell me that for various reasons the above phrase is incorrect, and have given varying substitutions such as "幾乎一樣" to use instead.

I also have other teachers who insist "差不多一樣" is perfectly fine.

Does anyone have an opinion on this?
