I am an ABC who speaks and understands mandarin fluently but cant read or write much.

我是美国出生的中国人。我现在想多学一点中文。我在家里跟我父母讲中文。但是，我不太会写和读中文。

I never bothered studying chinese either so my grammar might not be great.

Anyways, is there any type of resource you guys would recommend for me? I pretty much have the listening and speaking portion down, I just want to learn more chinese characters so that I can text message my family from back home.
