Hello all,
I recently was accepted for an internship in Changzhou, China. Because of this, I wanted to start learning Mandarin but I saw that in Changzhou that they appear to speak a slightly different language than Mandarin (I am basing what I saw off the Wikipedia page and how I interpreted it).
My question is that I know I will not be able to learn such a complex language within now and when I have to be over there (Middle of May) but I was wondering if there are any resources such as books, websites, etc that could help me understand basic Mandarin.
I have been using a resource called the Global Road Warrior, which happened to be available to me through my university. But this relates more the culture, taboos, what to do, and what not to do.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
