[basics] How to learn pronunciation from written Chinese?

I have found when learning vocabulary that I can remember characters quite easily, but I really struggle with remembering the spoken syllables for those characters. (this makes sense because I am a very visual learner.)

Is there a way to know (or guess) how to pronounce a word by looking at its character?

Any advice, approaches to study or mnemonics would be very appreciated.

I am an absolute beginner, so sorry if this is really basic.
