My professor says I’m good at speaking and reading but I need to improve my writing, how can I practice my writing skills?

I took Chinese all four years of high school. I’m currently a sophomore in college and we’re required to take a foreign language so I took the Chinese placement test and got put in Elementary Chinese II.

I seem to know more than most of the students speaking-wise however we had our first quiz recently and we had to know how to write the characters we learned for the lesson and with their pinyin (including tones).

My high school teacher never really emphasized this part of learning Chinese so now I am struggling to know how to write all the vocab we’re given and know the pinyin.

Is there any good ways to practice this?
