name transliteration advice?

你好!Totally new to this sub, but somewhat intermediate in Chinese. I’ve read online that coming up with a Chinese name for yourself can be tricky, and that it’s advised not to try and transliterate your given name syllables-for-syllable for the risk of coming up with something that has a strange or nonsensical meaning in Chinese. I was wondering if posting some of my attempts here and getting feedback was something that’s done/allowed? 谢谢!
