Difference between 以后 and 后面?

Looking up the definitions it seems like 以后 means afterwards/after and 后面 means later. 后面 can also mean behind though, so when referring to time should I prefer to use 以后 instead of 后面? And is it still possible to use 后面 when referring to time? Thanks in advance.
