In Mandarin Companion's Emma, the boss is speaking to an employee and states:

你知道，这对公司来说很重要

Google/Bing translates this to "You know, this is important to the company", which makes sense given the context.

What is the purpose of the 这 here?

On the Allset Grammar Wiki, 对[noun]来收[opinon] means that the opinion is valid from the perspective of the noun.

However nothing on that page talks about 这.
