Intonation and Pronunciation

Is there a way to practice specifically how you sound when you practice a word? I find it hard to change my pitch from my usual monotone American voice when I try to say things in Chinese. A little background I am Korean American but I lived in the states basically all my life and my primary language is English. I speak Korean on occasion but I sometimes get embarrassed with my pronunciation when trying to converse in the language, I understand it at a basic/proficient level. I have trouble sounding like a native speaker because of how often I speak English. I am learning a little Chinese to try to converse with a work friend and I think it will help me with pronunciation with other languages since Mandarin stresses how you say certain syllables/words. Appreciate any advice you can give me.
