Guide to Mandarin phonetics?

Hey,

my biggest struggle in learning Mandarin is that I often don't know how to pronounce a word, and looking it up on pleco everytime is suuuuper tideous. Is it possible to learn all the phonetics so whatever word is thrown at me I know how to pronounce it?

If yes, can you pinpoint me to a guide.
