都 usage?

So I take a beginner's Mandarin class in school (simplified characters). We were reading a dialogue in class, and I found a sentence that I thought was slightly odd. It went like this: "我姐姐学习[也]很紧张，她太认真都快成书呆子了。"

I don't understand the part where it says 她太认真都快成书呆子了. Pls explain
