Hi All,
I'm new to this page and Reddit in general, so I have a question.
I have recently watched a CCTV documentary on YouTube, specifically this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOnz3cHrvXM
In order to understand it and pick up the vocabulary better, I transcribed the entire documentary in free time here and there over the last two weeks.
I was wondering whether posting the transcription so more people can read it along with watching the documentary itself would break copyright violation? The r/CHINESELANGUAGE rules say
"Sharing of materials for which you do not hold copyright is not allowed on r/chineselanguage. This includes, but is not limited to: offering copies of materials in physical or digital form, asking for copies of materials in physical or digital form, and linking to copies of materials in physical or digital form."
The reason I'm not sure is that many websites have full transcriptions for TV drama episodes that people themselves have transcribed simply from listening to/watching them. i.e. aside from the video that is on YouTube, there is no published script anywhere for the documentary.
Hence I'm not sure whether posting a transcription one makes oneself, solely for the purposes of studying the documentary as a language learner, would be permitted or not.
Thanks :)
