Hello. I am starting work soon for a US company that requires all employees to submit a "written phonetic pronunciation" of their name for the employee directory. My last name is Xie (谢) , and I don't think the pinyin is helpful/intuitive for native English speakers (usually people pronounce it as "Zee"). What do you think is an easy written phonetic pronunciation for native English speakers to use? I think it should start with Sh instead of X at the beginning? I'm thinking "Shi" or "Shyi"? Suggestions?
