Hi! This is the second post of words and phrases to speak more like a native Chinese. I found it a little bit odd without adding an "a" between like and native so i change the title slightly. This is a learning post for both Chinese learners and English learners. You can learn Chinese native slang while pointing out what's wrong with my passages and correct my words or phrases to be more native if you think my post is helpful to you and you're free~~ If you're interested in words and phrase in post 01, here's the link: click me. 10 words and phrase in post 01 There were some questions from the first post and i think it's important to for you guys know: I'm a female and I haven't considered about whether these terms are too feminine. I just know men in China use them too and unless I pointing out only girls use it or is mainly used by girls, I don't think others would laugh at you. In my perspective, if a foreigner can use these terms, I will only feel he or she is super super lovely. And yeah you will be welcome among ladies. That's all. The words and phrases are all come from Internet slang. It's cool to use internet slang in daily conversation and even serious news agencies like Xinhua use them too. So take it easy! Tips All posts need basic knowledge of Chinese or at least you should be able to recognize the characters. All posts will not involve any dirty words. (But if you need them you can chat with me) Words and phrases are randomly chosen. If you're confused by other words are not mentioned in posts you can just ask me. Words and phrases are commonly used by Mandarin users. They are not for serious conversation and just daily or kidding vocabulary! ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆ 滚滚 gún gǔn Panda Pandas love rolling and so fat that they look like balls. So 滚滚 is a nickname for them. BTW if someone mentions 青团 in conversation about pandas, they probably saying excrement of pandas. Wanna know why? Google excrement of panda. 青团 or 青团子, a tradition dessert Chinese eat at Qingming Festival 直 zhí 弯 wān They are special adj. to describe someone is a gay or not a gay. They are direct translation from English straight （直） and Bent （弯）. Common collocations of 直 are 直的, 直男, 直男癌. 直的 is an adj. to describe something is straight and someone is not a gay. A man is a 直男 means he is straight. 直男 is also used to say a man is not considerate enough. 直男癌 could be used as adj. as well as n. to describe a man who has machismo and doesn't care about others' feelings. They are opinionated and believe that women should not be independent and should be ruled by them. For example: “我要气死了！我告诉我的直男男朋友我生病了，他竟然跟我说多喝热水。” "My boyfriend made me mad! When I'm sick he just told me to drink more hot water! He is really not considerate!" “我和我未婚夫分手了，因为他是个直男癌。我跟他说结婚后我想继续工作，他说一个女人工作能有什么出息，不如在家带小孩。” "I broke up with my fiancé because he told me there's no good for women to work. Women should stay at home with children. What a man!" 酱紫 jiàng zǐ Plz don't do that. I can't stand your tickling! 酱紫 is equal to 这样子. Actually it is a word to mock accent of people who come from the South. When they say 这样子, the pronunciation they make is close to zeiàng zǐ (try to show it in pinyin). They say it fast and what they say is much more like 酱紫 rather than 这样子. 酱紫 is popular among girls and girls use it in order to give somebody a cute impression. Sometimes 酱紫 is used to mock Taiwanese. No offence but it's true. For example: “你不可以酱紫哦，很不礼貌的。” "You can't speak like that. It's impolite." ...可以为所欲为 ...ké yǐ wéi sūo yù wéi Gif from HK TV series Every Move You Make E17 This phrase means if you are ... you can do anything you want. It comes from a short clip from HK TV series called Every move you make. Two men in gif said sorry, if you are rich you surely can do anything you want. You really want to punch on their faces because they are so mean! When you think others are mean (but actually you are jealous) you could say the phrase to satirize them (Example 2). And if you look down upon others (just like these two men) because you're better than them, you can use it to mock them. Basically you can only add adj. between are and you. For example: 长得帅可以为所欲为 If you are handsome you can do anything you want. “他一个月里换了很多女朋友了，长得帅真是可以为所欲为。” "He changed girlfriends frequently this month. Really, if you are handsome you can do anything you want." QAQ Text face to express crying. You can also type qaq. Girls like to use it. Personally thinking, men could use it if he is handsome. Yep, 长得帅是可以为所欲为的. 穿越 chuān yuè It refers to a popular type of novels and TV series in China. The main characters always go back to ancient ages or show up in the future or even a fanciful world because of accidents (mostly car crash). They can't go back to the real world and there's always troubles waiting for them. They will find a great lover (almost perfect and sometimes many lovers) in that world and live with him or her forever. 宫斗 gōng dòu screenshot from popular 宫斗 TV series Story of Yanxi Palace 宫斗 also refers to a type of novels and TV series popular among girls. 穿越 and 宫斗 are two peer types. You can find many 穿越 novels under sort of 宫斗 or 宫斗 under 穿越. 宫斗 novels are basically stories in ancient China about a man (Chinese ancient emperor) and hundreds of his wives. The main character is one of the emperor's wife and if she wants to get more power or win love from the emperor, or just be save (the less competitors the best), she need to fight against others by defaming or even poisoning. Because more and more teenagers enjoy 穿越 and 宫斗, many works appear to be, you know, more suitable for them. Plots become naive and not many educated people like to say they are fans of 穿越 or 宫斗. I would be shy if recently someone ask me whether I've watched Story of Yanxi Palace and my answer is yes. You could say these two terms are a little bit derogatory. Well of course we won't laugh at you if you are interested in watching 宫斗 TV series or learn Chinese by programs. There is a classical 宫斗 TV series called Empresses in the Palace 甄嬛传 and almost every girl in China had watched Empresses in the Palace. It is available on the Netflix. 黑人脸 hēi rén liǎn 黑人问号 hēi rén wèn hào https://i.redd.it/bchuhvpy90f11.jpg This term become popular because funny facial expression on Nick Young. It is used to express you're astonish and confused. Normally if we chat online we prefer to use picture like above. And if you want to say whaaaaat in daily life you can just act like them or say 黑人脸 or 黑人问号. For example: Finn (glee): My mom has to remove her prostate. Me: 黑人脸 沙雕 Shā diāo 沙雕 comes from F word and if you type sha diao the first word is its origin. So sometime we pronounce 沙雕 as shá diǎo. 沙雕 is an adj. to describe something is funny but i don't why or just funny. And it could be use as a noun to say someone is foolish in kidding way. If you want to say someone is stupid in an offensive way, just pronounce shá diǎo. Sending QAQ to others are 卖萌. 萌 is equal to cute so if something or someone is cute, you could say 好萌！ (so cute) It won't be feminine for men to use. Sometimes some would say 卖萌可耻.
