你好!r/ChineseLanguage,
I would like to start learning Mandarin Chinese from home, as a large, but not intimidating, project and undertaking for my free time. I have looked at DuoLingo, and taken some lessons, I’ve been enjoying the type of learning they offer but I’m in need of other studying resources etc. Do you people know any that could be beneficial to my study?
And yes, I do realize learning Mandarin Chinese is a huge undertaking seeing as it’s often considered one of the hardest languages to learn due to tone (a, á, à, ǎ, ā) and the use of multiple logographic characters for each word or part of a word (漢字, hán zì). But in my little experience so far tone has not been a large problem for me, it’s the recognition that’s been hardest for me, character stroke order, recognition and memorization has been a very easy task for me. I hope to become proficient or fluent at some point!
I am thankful for you people’s answers and reactions in advance.
再見!
