Is it possible to do a multiple year course (2-4 years) of Chinese on a student visa?

the student visa lasts for only 1 year. At the end of that, what if I want to keep going in the program? Also, advice on any getting scholarships that are for multiple years would be helpful too.

I am from the United States, a 2.5 gpa, with a bachelors in philosophy.
