For those of you who have taken the hsk path how far will a complete hsk 5 vocab get you in regards to listening comprehension and reading. The same goes for hsk 6? I am currently making my way through the lists now at hsk 5 and am curious as to how the outcome would look like taken I am able to completely learn the vocabulary. I understand there is more to comprehension than just knowing vocabulary(You have to be used to hearing the language, grammar, understand accents, etc...). I have a goal of being able to comprehend most Chinese television, advanced native speaker conversation and another goal to be able to read a full chinese newspaper and am very eager to accomplish these things as soon as possible knowing it will be a long process. Obviously in tandem to learning the vocubalary I am learning grammar rules, getting accustomed to hearing the language with lower level material, and am taking a school course. Any help is greatly appreciated.
