Registering for the HSK

I tried to search this question on Google but came up empty.

When trying to register for the HSK online (chinesetest.cn) it’s asking for a Chinese name. Is this a required field? Is this for people with legal existing Chinese names or am I supposed to have been given a Chinese name (or Chinese version of my name) for testing purposes? Does this show up on the certificate?
