Intermediate Learner Looking for Resources

大家好,

I'm a Chinese-born American and I'll be going to China in a few months to visit friends and relatives, and I'd really like to be able to hold lengthy conversations with them. I'd like to work mainly on speaking and understanding.

So far, I've used HSK 4-6 vocabulary words to bolster my knowledge. I've tried listening to podcasts but they speak way too fast and I have to google certain words/phrases I'm not sure about, same with TV shows and movies.

Anyways, my question is, what are some resources to get from the intermediate to the advanced level?
