I made a meme about Fire Emblem Heroes that includes some Chinese. Even though it's literally just, like, a sentence, I just wanted to get some feedback on how correct/natural it sounds (because one of the difficulties I have with learning Chinese is the lack of feedback if I'm saying stuff right, or just well enough to be understood but not actually correct.)
You shouldn't need much context to understand, I think. The game just released a new weapon called Wo Gùn (as a parallel to an earlier-released Wo Dao) - except, even though it's called 倭棍 (which should be some sort of staff or stick, right?), it's actually depicted as an axe.
As I ask at the end of my explanation comment on that post, I also wonder how odd it would sound to someone more fluent in Chinese to call an axe a 棍, or if it's actually something reasonable (even if not to my ears right now). And while I'm asking questions, what's the deal with 倭? The dictionary says it's an offensive term for the Japanese, and yet it's used in this weapon name (well, originally the Wo Dao weapon, 倭刀), seemingly without offense considering it was named such by Intelligent Systems, a company in Japan.
