As a person who have been learning Chinese for a few month now, i find songs to be very helpful. Although, the tones are not very accurate in my opinion it’s a lot of fun translating a song and then enjoying understanding everything. Having said this, i have a group chat on Telegram dedicated to Chinese pop (not only mandopop, but cantopop and hokkien too). For now it’s just a small community of 30 people mainly from asia (china, taiwan, hk, japan, malaysia) and some from the west (europe and america) sharing chinese songs. So if you happen to use this app, you can check it out. Everyone is welcome. Just search for @mandopop in the app
And just so it won’t sound like some sort of ad I’d like to share these playlists for people who want to see what is mandopop like
This one is made by apple, gets updated every friday and is personally my favorite https://itunes.apple.com/ru/playlist/partying-to-mandopop/pl.86c84778a8a6420e8fc35003ad2bc7ee?l=en
I was told that this is quite a good equivalent of the apple playlist https://open.spotify.com/user/spotify/playlist/37i9dQZF1DWWqC43bGTcPc?si=UMI3DQEjT5qzU-6TF-3nYw
