Choosing a Chinese Name

Hi! I apologize in advance if this kind of post is not welcome here.

My teacher told me to think of a Chinese name for myself, but since I'm a newbie, I don't know what names sound natural or weird. I want a name that sounds natural and Chinese and has a nice meaning, but is not too far from how my native name sounds. For my surname I'm thinking of going with one of these characters: 孔 空 巩 郭 国 宫. 孔 and 空 sound closer to my original surname, but 巩, 郭, 国 and 宫 are closer in meaning, as my surname can mean protection, defense, castle or fiefdom. 卫 also seems to be close in meaning, but is far off in sound. I'm thinking of giving top priority to sound for the surname though and going with 孔 or 空. So far I had a list to go with, but I'm really lost at choosing a given name. I want a simple two-character name that looks natural and resembles how my name Fernando sounds. I don't know how they sound or read, but the ones I thought about so far were these: 凤凰; 凤勇; 凤安; 凤龙; 凤王; 凤南; 凤男. I thought of 勇 because the meaning is similar to my original name and the sound is close, and the last five I picked mostly for their sound, though I'm from South America so 南 fits me, and most others sounded fitting too on their own. I also thought of 风 as a substitute for 凤. However, I don't know the grammar and usage of Chinese given names, so maybe they all sound weird lol. Suggestions are welcome.
