Absolute beginner looking for the start line

Hey learners,

My girlfriend is Chinese and I want to learn mandarin to be able to speak to her in her language. My goals is to communicate orally, reading and writing are not important to me unless they're useful in learning to speak and listen.

Can you please suggest some resources to use to start learning? I want to know how I should structure my self study but I don't know where to start.
