I'm taking the HSK for the first time and am taking it online. I'm reviewing the questions from sample tests but am a bit worried about being surprised by the format of the online test.
For the reading part, does it let you do the questions out of order? I've taken an unrelated test before where even though the allotted time was shared for a large number of questions it made you submit each subsection of questions before continuing and you couldn't go back, which made timing more difficult.
For the writing part, is there a character counter that helps you with approximating the correct length or do you have to have a feel for that? And is the Chinese character input system embedded in the test program itself or do I have to worry about making sure the test center enables the Chinese input on the computer's operating system? If the the input system is embedded, should I expect it to be clunky?
Thanks!
