At what point will I be able to understand Chinese Movies/ TV? (If ever)

I've searched the internet and I haven't found a good answer. I'm currently studying Chinese and I'm around HSK 1 - 2 level. I'm curious at what level I could watch Chinese Movies/ TV and understand it at a semi fluent level. I'm starting to wonder if even HSK 5 would be enough, since I've seen many people saying even after passing HSK 5 they still are lost when listening to media. It seems rather discouraging. Thoughts?
